A new chapter in bilateral ties is taking shape—powered by technology, enterprise and shared economic ambition. The Australia–India relationship is moving beyond traditional trade, with technology and Artificial Intelligence emerging as important areas of economic engagement. On 30 September 2026, the Consulate General of India, Sydney, in partnership with the Economic Diplomacy Division of India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Newland Global Group (NGG), hosted the third phase of the Australia–India Future Industries Series. Held under the theme “Capability, Competitiveness and Growth,” the growth should be understood. Australia is
not simply receiving migrants. Migration is continuing to shape what Australia looks like, sounds like, celebrates, eats, creates and ultimately becomes. Yet demographic growth alone does not guarantee belonging.

Discussions also addressed opportunities across the technology and IT sectors, financing challenges and practical barriers to business growth. Australia brings research strength and advanced industry expertise; India brings scale, technological capability and a dynamic digital economy. Bringing these strengths together presents opportunities for businesses on both sides.
